Returns

What is your return policy?

If you don't like your items or they don't fit, you can submit your return within 14 days of the date the items arrive to your home.

  • Refunds are always issued as store credit.
  • It can take up to 14 business days to issue your store credit once your return is received.
  • Products must be returned only if they're in the original condition, unworn, unwashed, and with the tags still attached. 
    Final Sale/Warehouse Sale items are not elligible for return or exchange. 

What isn't eligible for return?

These are some items we don't take back:

  • •  Anything worn, altered, washed, heavily scented with smoke/     fragrance, or missing its original packaging/tags.
  • •  Shoes that have clearly been worn and/or scuffed.
  • • Intimates, swimwear, socks, hats, sunglasses, fragrance/beauty         items, earrings, or sample/ warehouse sale and discounted items.
  • • Items not eligible for return are also not eligible for exchange.
  • • If you ship your item back and the packaging arrives damaged   because you used it as the shipping container, you will have to pay a     restocking fee.
If you send an item that is not eligible back to us, you are responsible for further shipping costs to send the item back to you.

 Sample/Warehouse Sale/Sale/Final Sale items are NOT eligible for return

Please package your returns properly. Do NOT use the clothing garment bags or shoe boxes as the shipping containers. If the product's packaging is ruined in transit because it was not shipped properly or is covered in tape so it can not be resold, your return/exchange will not be accepted or you will be charged a restocking fee. There is a $15 dollar restocking fee for any damaged shoe boxes

How do I start a return?

If you purchased return insurance on your order, then your return is free of charge! If you did not, you are still eligible for a return, you just have to pay for return shipping.

This is not the case if UPS/USPS/etc damages the shipment, this is if you package your return incorrectly. There is a $15 dollar restocking fee for any damaged/taped up shoe boxes.

Return Shipping Costs?

If you didn't pick up your item from a UPS access point (or similar) and it gets sent back to us, you are responsible for reshipment costs. 

If you didn't pay your duties at customs or it was held by your postal service too long and the item gets sent back to us, you will have to cover the shipping if you want to reship the item.

I got my order and something is wrong!

That shouldn’t happen, but we might have messed up! Email us at admin@shopmyviolet.com within 5 days of receipt and we'll get you set up to get the right item. If the item is incorrect or damaged, we will need a photo of that item when you contact us. We generally wait for the incorrect item to make it back to us before dispatch another shipment.

Shipping + Orders

Where is my package shipping from?

All orders are shipped from us in  California. You will be notified via email when your order has shipped. Tracking information will be provided in that email.

Where is my package?

  • Please allow up to 7 business days for processing and shipping. We are super small team and everything is hand packed! Holidays and Major Sales/Launches also may cause a small processing delay. Remember, we are a small business! 
  • You will be notified via email when your order has shipped. Tracking information will be provided in that email.
  • We are not responsible for delays or lost packages. Once the packages leaves out warehouse it is out of our hands, and we are at the mercy of the post office.
    If your item was returned to sender (possibly due to the incorrect address being input) then you will be responsible for reshipment costs.

How do I use store credit?

If you’ve been issued credit the store credit/gift card will have been emailed to you! If you cannot find the email, please reach out to us and we will re send the information. 

How to use discount codes?

When you get to checkout, there will be an option to add it at the end. Some promotions and codes cannot be combined.

I want to cancel my order.

We are unable to cancel orders once they are processed. We maybe able to swap out a size - MAYBE. Email us asap at admin@shopmyviolet.com and we will try to catch it.

Why is Shipping So Expensive?
Shipping expenses are determined by the mail carrier, and unfortunately we don’t have a say in how much it will cost! We understand international shipping can be pricey, but as a small business, we don’t currently have the means to lower those costs without taking a large loss. 
 That being said, we do offer wholesale internationally, so if your area has a shop you think would be a good fit, we’d love it if you recommended us to them! Offering our products through local retailers allows us to get our designs to international customers without all of the expensive international shipping fees!
Your International Shipping is more than other places!
To reiterate what we said above, shipping expenses are determined by the mail carrier, and unfortunately we don’t have a say in how much it will cost!
We do not offer USPS for International Shipping because it is extremely unreliable. While it may be a few dollars cheaper, 60% of the packages we were sending were not making it to their final destination, there was no tracking (because it was the "cheap" option), and we can not afford to lose that much product as a small business. It's wasteful and we just can't afford it.
Who sells My Violet outside of your official site? 
We currently have a few official retailers. A brick and mortar in California, Salem, Massacusetts, and in Australia. + more!

Shipping Help

My order is taking too long.

We are sorry you think so! Orders are processed Monday - Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Check your confirmation email or order update email for your tracking number. Times are wild right now and shipping has been a massive issue throughout the US.
Due to a high order volume and us being a small businesss, your package may take tiny bit longer to ship during high volume launches. Once your label has been created, it leaves our warehouse within 24-48 hours.

My package is late...where is it?

We know as much as you do! What you see on tracking is what we see. It's probalby not lost, just delayed. Some packages aren't getting updates and just arrive at their destination weeks later. We can't do anything about this and thank you for your patience. 

My item says delivered, but I don't see it?

Haven't received your package yet? Be sure to check your surrounding area and your front desk, if you have one!

If you still haven't received it, please, let us know and we will do our best to locate it. Remember, we are not responsible for lost or stolen packages, but we will do what we can to find it or file a claim for it. Just email us at admin@shopmyviolet.com with your order information.

If you know your area is targeted by porch pirates, please have your package shipped to a safe location.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to many countries! Starting Sept 2023, all duties and taxes are included in your purchase. 
Under NO circumstance will a shipment be marked as a gift or reduced value. PLEASE put your phone number on your order if you are an international customer.
We try to make sure all orders have phone numbers, but if it gets missed, there is a possibility it will be returned to us and you will be responsible for the re-shipping costs.

I'm in the UK, can I place an order?

Yep!  All duties and taxes are included with your purchase and it will come directly to your door.
Your order will be shipped exclusively with DHL; providing that we have all correct information needed, including your telephone number for tracking purposes.

Are your items ethically made/Where are your items from?

My Violet Originals are made in Los Angeles, CA, USA, in our privately owned boutique factory in Istanbul, Turkey, and from our partnered manufacturers in China. If you visit our About Us, you can see some photos and videos from our factories/production! 

So, while we do have items and/or fabric that we have made and/or sourced from overseas, we choose factories that pay their workers a living wage and have amazing work conditions. We have a very close relationship with our manufacturers and have visited our factories and/or met many of our contacts in person

There are a few items on the site that are not My Violet Originals that we hand pick from different wholesale companies/small businesses/artists that we trust and have worked with for a while.  

If you want to only shop from the items we make ourselves, shop My Violet Originals! We will have this information on the product as well.

When will you respond to my email?

We are a very small business of a few people and it can take us up to 24 hours to process customer service emails (longer if your email is sent on a weekend).

Our customer service hours are  M-F, 9am-4pm. These hours exclude holidays and weekends.  We will respond to your email in the order it was received.

California Residents & Prop 65

California consumers understand that California’s Proposition 65 entitles them to special warnings for products that contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Some of our products such as wallets, handbags, purses, backpacks, clutches, belts, clothing, jewelry or shoes may have these warnings.
While this shouldn’t cause any harm, or worry anyone, we like to keep everyone aware.

The items, if any, may contain very small, trace amounts of ingredients. Many times, the risk of harm was found only in studies where massive amounts of the ingredient were given to the test subject. It’s totally ok to be cautious!
You don't need to overly worry about the Prop 65 label, which can often times be needlessly alarming.

So, In accordance with Proposition 65, we issue the following warning to our California customers:

WARNING: Some Products from My Violet from time to time may contain chemicals that are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm and may be included on the Proposition 65 chemical list. If you need additional information to make your purchase, please email us at: admin@shopmyviolet.com. We will respond to you ASAP to provide you with the information we possess about the materials within our products.
